Kim, a United States Air Force veteran, grew up in central KY and has fond memories of spending time with her father learning to shoot out in the country. In 2016, Kim was traveling from KY to OH for work and after some scary encounters while traveling, decided to purchase a handgun for personal protection and everyday carry. Kim quickly rekindled her love of shooting sports and became a member of The Well-Armed Woman (TWAW), joined a lady’s only shooting league, participated in IDPA shooting matches and decided to become a firearms instructor so she could help other women develop the skills and mindset to become their own protector. She also is certified to teach Personal Protection Inside the Home and Personal Protection Outside the Home. Kim is a certified NRA pistol and USCCA handgun instructor as well as a Range Safety Officer. When not teaching firearms course, she is still in the classroom and can be found teaching professional development courses to federal government employees. In her spare time, she is usually hanging out with family and her two sons or working on a multitude of crafting projects.
