After spending 25 years in public service as a Correctional Officer, Police Officer, and an EMT-Paramedic in a Level II Trauma Center; Rommel has been instructing Firearms Safety and working as a consultant for various training programs since 2011 appearing as a subject matter speaker regarding Deadly Force and the Law Enforcement Response. He was first certified as a Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor in 1987 and has continuously sought additional advanced Instructor ratings and served as his agency’s Training Coordinator. He holds multiple NRA Instructor ratings, is a member of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainer’s Association, a Massad Ayoob Staff Instructor, and a Deadly Force Instructor. He attends courses regularly to stay current with changes and developments in lawful self-defense including the tools, technology, politics, and court decisions that all have a considerable impact on society and the armed citizen.
